Beyond Recidivism: Measuring Employment Data After Incarceration
Hosted by The Council of State Governments (CSG) Justice Center
Employment is one of the strongest indicators of success after incarceration, yet many states struggle to track reentry employment data in a way that can inform policy, funding, and program improvements. In this webinar, we’ll take a close look at one state’s innovative cross-system approach to go beyond recidivism and focus on factors that reduce recidivism—and how other states can apply it.
Join this virtual discussion for practical guidance on improving how your state measures and uses employment data, including:
- How North Carolina tracks employment after incarceration across systems
- Key considerations for linking cross-agency data to analyze post-release outcomes
- What employment data reveals about reentry and how to apply those insights
Specifically, panelists from the North Carolina departments of Adult Correction and Commerce will walk through the types of data included in the North Carolina Common Follow-Up System, then share how it’s used to examine post-release employment trends and answer key questions about reentry outcomes.
This event, which is a follow-up to “Beyond Recidivism: A New Era of Measuring Reentry Success,” is open to anyone and intended for people working in corrections, reentry, workforce development, education, research/evaluation, and state or local government.
All registrants will receive a recording and slides after the event.
